I wonder about the point of discussion when the only adhesive in American politics is hypocrisy. It's hoped that when you point a finger, no-one's looking at you. Starting at the conclusion and making all the parameters fit. One day some time ago, my closest companion asked me if, when we were young, we would ever have thought that our general state would ever become so dire. Of course I reasoned and discussed academically, but after struggling to create a point of view, I realized in clarity that she was completly correct. To reach a place where even the visual and mention of prominent leaders evokes anger and despise. For a while the chimes of freedom flashed and beckoned and like the smoke from a steamship falling over the horizon have faded into a vain, futile hope. I reject it all.
